Small Talk With Brett

by Brett Vebber

Cystic Fibrosis affects the whole family, and there are many issues that need to be addressed as a family.  I have seen more and more that having something like CF is very bonding.  The hospital is a very good picture of this and can even be described as a little community.  I believe this is very important from the moral and social support standpoints.  The truth of the matter is, that as important as they may seem, there is still a risk of catching more infections, which in turn may take years off your life.  Resistance to medicine is a very important subject to discuss as a family.  Take the time to read the precautions that are mentioned in this issue.  Also take the time to go over the guidelines to minimize the chance of getting an infection.
