2002 CF Great Strides Plans Surpass Previous Years By Far

This year we have a great title sponsor, Cingular Wireless to make this year a stellar event!  Committees in Huntsville, Montgomery, and Mobile in many other sites are already making monumental strides.  In Birmingham alone, Kristen Woods with Cingular Wireless has 18 potential sponsors.

Birmingham and Montgomery have made plans with Outback Steakhouse to provide burgers and chicken sandwiches.  There will be snacks; clowns, karate & aerobic demos, and Home Depot will provide other activities.  The first walk is to be held in Birmingham on April 27^th at Oak Mountain State Park.

Cystic Fibrosis Foundation 2002 Great Strides Walk-A-Thon

Come out, raise some money, have fun, and walk for a cure!  Put on those tennis shoes, pack up the family, and head on out to make Great Strides to cure Cystic Fibrosis.

Great Strides 2002 is a 10k (6.2 miles) walk held in different cities across the United States each year.  Be sure to see and check out our calendar of events for areas near you.

Volunteers of all ages are needed to participate and to raise money for Cystic Fibrosis Research.  For more information on how you can participate in this fun-filled event, contact Joan Flynn at the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation at 1-800-523-2357 or (205) 870-8565.

Many families are doing other creative activities to help raise funds in Alabama for a cure.  We had Lora Popwell of Bead Biz rent a kiosk at the Galleria selling beads and giving 25% of the proceeds to the CF Foundation.  Lynn Sleeper hosted a pottery party featuring Mississippi artisan Peter Woods to present his collection and give a portion of the proceeds to the CF Foundation.  If you have any new ideas, please feel free to contact us at:
