Scandipharm Launches "Care First" as New Program for CF Patients

Axcan Scandipharm, a Birmingham, Alabama based pharmaceutical company specializing in Cystic Fibrosis offers a program to help newly diagnosed CF patients.

The “Care First for CF” was launched in January 1999 to help relieve the cost of pancreatic enzymes and vitamin therapy for patients up to two years of age.  Simply stated, if a newly diagnosed patient or previously diagnosed patient uses ULTRASE Microspheres (4,500 units lipase), Axcan Scandipharm will provide these enzymes to the patient free of charge until the patient’s second birthday.  Also, Axcan Scandipharm will send ADEKs pediatric drops vitamins on a monthly basis, as well as a copy of Dr. David Orenstein’s book: “Cystic Fibrosis: A Guide For Patient and Family.”  Families who are interested should contact their physician, nurse, or social worker.
