Dropping By To Say Hello!

by Jill Roberts

My name is Jillian Roberts, and I am 18 years old.  I wanted to write and let everyone know of the biggest event in my life so far.  On August 1st of this year, I gave birth to Ethan Chandler Ball.  He weighed in at 7 lbs. And was 22 ½ inches tall.  It is awesome!

I was a junior in high school when I got pregnant and decided that I needed to begin home schooling.  I was glad that the school was able to work with me.  Amazingly, I did better with home schooling than in attending regular classes.  I attribute this to being able to work at my own pace.  I am planning to complete my last year through home schooling, as I need time with Ethan.  I will graduate in the spring and want to go to Gadsden State to study Cosmetology.

What have I learned through this whole ordeal?  One, any person with CF who has the possibility of having a child needs to be in a healthy state before getting pregnant.  The other this is, though this was an unplanned pregnancy, you have to live for your goals in life and try not to worry about what others may think of your goals or decision.  I do not regret having Ethan and thank the Lord for him everyday.
