Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is making Great Strides...in Alabama
The results are in and the 2002 Great Strides season in Alabama has been the best ever! The foundation, with the help of CF families and volunteers, has raised over $365,463 dollars. Mobile came in first place with $128,000 and Birmingham showed a not-so-distant second place finish with over $96,500 raised. We still have one more walk to go - in Florence, Alabama, that will take place on September 30 at Martin Park.
The walks have been so successful, in part, because of the tremendous team effort made by the volunteers, families, parents, and sponsors throughout the entire state. The focus on making the walks fund for the entire family really seems to have taken root. We plan to enhance and increase the activities for next year!
The Alabama chapter is maintaining momentum with a full schedule this fall. We will have the following events:
Golf tournament at The Ledges, in Huntsville on September 30th.
Celebrity Waiter (black-tie event) on October 12th at The Club, in Birmingham.
Remy Zero Concert at Songer Theatre in Mobile on November 2nd.
